Highlights are one of the most requested services in McKinney, but not all highlights are created equal. The difference between highlights that look natural and highlights that look obvious comes down to placement, technique, and the experience of the person holding the foils.

After more than 30 years behind the chair, I know exactly where to place each foil to complement your face shape, work with your natural color, and create the kind of dimension that looks like it belongs there. Types of Highlights I Offer

Mini Partial Highlights. Up to 8 foils strategically placed around your part and face. This is perfect if you want a subtle, radiant change without a full commitment. It's also a great option between full highlight appointments to keep things looking fresh.

Partial Highlights. Foils covering approximately half of your head, focusing on the top layers and the pieces that frame your face. This is the sweet spot for most women who want noticeable brightness without the time and cost of a full head.

Full Highlights. Foils on the entire head with toner included. This gives you maximum brightness and dimension from every angle. If you want that all-over glow, this is the way to get it.

Lowlights. The opposite of highlights. I weave in a deeper tone to add richness and depth. Lowlights are beautiful on their own or combined with highlights for a multi-dimensional look that has real movement.

How It Works

Highlights vs. Balayage

This is one of the most common questions I get. Traditional highlights use foils for precise, consistent placement from root to tip. Balayage is hand-painted for a softer, more graduated look. Both are beautiful, and the right choice depends on your style and how much maintenance you want.

If you want polished, even brightness that's consistent throughout, highlights are the way to go. If you want something more effortless that grows out gracefully, balayage might be a better fit. During your consultation, I'll help you figure out which one is right for you.
