After more than 30 years behind the chair, I've styled hair for weddings, proms, galas, anniversaries, and every celebration in between. I know which styles hold best, which techniques create the most beautiful shapes, and how to make everything look effortless even when it's intricate.

Styles I Create
Classic Updos. Elegant buns, chignons, and twisted styles that are timeless and sophisticated. Perfect for weddings, galas, and formal events.
Braided Styles. From romantic side braids to intricate crown braids with woven details. Braids add texture and visual interest that photographs beautifully.
Half-Up Styles. The best of both worlds. Part of your hair is pulled up for elegance while the rest flows down for softness. This is one of my most requested looks for weddings and proms.
Loose, Romantic Curls. Not technically an updo, but many of my clients want flowing, voluminous curls for their special occasion. I can create soft waves that hold all night with professional products and techniques.

How much does an updo cost in McKinney?
Special occasion updos at Moxi Hair Studio start at $80. The final price depends on the complexity of the style and any accessories or special techniques involved. You'll get a clear price during your consultation.
Should I do a trial run before my wedding?
I highly recommend it. A trial lets us work out the exact style, test how it holds, and make sure you're completely happy before the big day. We can adjust anything during the trial so there are no surprises the day of. Book a consultation first and we'll schedule your trial.
How far in advance should I book for a wedding or special event?
For weddings, I recommend booking as soon as you have your date. Weekend slots, especially during wedding season (spring and fall), fill up fast. For other events, 2 to 3 weeks in advance is usually plenty of time.
What should I bring to my styling appointment?
Bring photos of styles you like, any hair accessories you plan to wear, and if possible, a photo of your outfit. This helps me design a style that complements your entire look. Come with clean, dry hair unless I tell you otherwise during the consultation.
How long will my updo last?
A properly done updo should last all day and all night. I use professional-grade products and techniques to make sure your style holds through dancing, hugging, and everything else your event throws at it.
Do you do on-location styling for weddings?
Currently, all styling services are done at my private suite in McKinney. The calm, quiet atmosphere is actually one of the best parts of the experience. It gives you a chance to relax and enjoy the moment before your event.
